Volunteer reports

We had an excellent and enthusiastic volunteer team at the UNeECC Annual Conference 2023 in Veszprém. Three students of the University of Pannonia helped the work of the organisers throughout the preparation phase of the event and during the three days of the conference. We are grateful for their commitment and valueable contribution. We asked them to summarise their tasks and volunteer experience. Here you can read their short reports:

Kinga Barabás

I am Kinga Barabás, a graduate student of the University of Pannonia in Veszprém, majoring in commerce and marketing.

I was pleased to participate in the UNeECC Annual Conference 2023: Cultur(E)scapes - Innovation in Culture and Beyond, which took place between 27-29 September 2023.

In the days leading up to the event, I assisted with administrative tasks and putting together the conference welcome packs. On all three days of the conference, I was involved in the registration process, room preparation, various organisational tasks and directing participants to the conference rooms.

I gained a lot of experience thanks to my participation in the event. Among other things, I was able to use my English language skills, as most of the participants were foreigners. Overall, it was a very good experience during the 3-day conference. I hope I will be able to attend a similar interesting conference next time.

Sába Roxána Horváth

I am Sába Roxána Horváth, a graduate student majoring in commerce and marketing at the University of Pannonia, Faculty of Business&Economics.

I am happy to say that I participated as a volunteer at the UNeECC Annual Conference from 27-29 September 2023, where I helped with the registration. I also performed tasks such as welcoming guests, handing out gifts and giving directions when needed.

I found it a great opportunity to support the organisers at an international conference, giving me an insight into how an event is run. As a volunteer, I was also able to listen to interesting presentations by the conference guests, which made me feel even closer to the conference. I had the opportunity to talk to them in a foreign language, which helped me to improve my English.

All in all, I had a great time and I hope that there will be other occasions like this, where people will count on my help.

Melánia Dégi

I am Melánia Dégi, a graduate student majoring in tourism and hospitality at the University of Pannonia. Between 27-29 September 2023, I participated as a volunteer at the UNeECC Annual Conference 2023 - Cultur(E)scapes - Innovation in Culture and Beyond, organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pannonia.

My tasks started with the preparation of the conference, I was involved in putting together the conference welcome packages, collecting the menu choices for the gala dinner and supporting the conference team with background work, placing the information boards and programmes. From the first day of the conference, I was responsible for welcoming international and national guests and participants, registration, badges and packages. During the conference I met many new people, including the members of the organising team, with whom I had a very good experience working together. I was also able to practice my English language skills with the international participants.

I really enjoyed being involved in the organisation and running of the conference because I will be able to use the experience gained in the future.
